An itinerary through old cafés and craft shops to discover Turin’s chocolate tradition
A walk through Turin’s city centre allows you to discover customs and special moments linked to Turin’s ancient tradition of producing chocolate.
Visiting old cafés and workshops, we will discover the origin of the cocoa by powerful duchesses, the popular history of Gianduiotto (traditional chocolate of Turin), and the declared love of nobles and intellectuals for the mouth-watering ‘Bicerin‘ (traditional coffee drink of Turin) and chocolate in a cup.
To better understand the characteristics of chocolate in Turin, we will have the pleasure of tasting some handmade products in typical historical chocolate shops during the walk.

Accessibility
The tour takes place outdoors around the squares and streets of the city centre, stopping at some craft workshops.
The tourist experience can be enjoyed by people with walking disabilities because the tour is designed to avoid steps and barriers.
For the elderly or those who have difficulty standing for a long time, the tour will be organised in such a way as to include breaks to rest.
Accessible toilets will be indicated on the route.
It is possible to request the service of a LIS interpreter (rate to be agreed-upon according to availability).
For people with visual impairments, the route is especially interesting because it includes many stops where they can touch, feel and taste different kinds of chocolate and learn more about the history of cocoa and Turin’s tradition of confectionery production.
