An authentic Venice far from clichés
I spent half of my life away from Venice: studying in Gorizia, a border town, facing a slow but ineffective process of ‘Germanisation’ in Bochum and Göttingen, enjoying the post-Olympic atmosphere in Turin, frequenting the worst bars in Moscow, following the Silk Road in Central Asia, immersing myself in the nightlife in Berlin and pretending to be a professional manager in a multinational company in Africa and the Middle East.
However, all these experiences made me realise that there is no place like home, especially if home is a city like Venice!
You may be thinking that the historic centre of Venice and its lagoon may be difficult or even impossible to visit if you have walking, sensory or cognitive disabilities. Nevertheless, more than you might imagine, Venice is a city accessible to all!
As a tour leader and environmental hiking guide sensitive to the issue of inclusiveness, I am ready to share my true love for the city: my passion for sustainable tourism. I will give you some tips on authentic Venice, far from clichés, helping you to experience Venice and its lagoon as best as possibile.
