Guided island-to-island tour to breathe in the natural environment of Mazzorbo and admire the famous colourful houses of the Burano fishermen
Discover the islands of theVenice lagoon, admire the typical colourful fishermen’s houses of Burano and enjoy the charm of ancient Byzantine mosaics and Romanesque architecture of medieval churches, and feel the quiet and unspoilt nature of Mazzorbo.
What we are going to visit…
Mazzorbo: we will start our adventure in Mazzorbo, one of the quietest and most idyllic islands in the lagoon, where just over 250 people live, then, we will stroll through its lush gardens and some beautiful grapes varieties cultivated to produce wine, visit the Church of St Catherine, one of the oldest churches in the lagoon, a true hidden gem, and relax in the magical atmosphere of a walled vineyard, the native Venetian grape variety called Dorona.
Burano: we will stroll along the lagoon with breathtaking views until the bridge that connects Mazzorbo to Burano, famous for its brightly coloured houses and lace production, stop at the artist’s house, a house decorated with geometric shapes such as squares, triangles and coloured circles by the artist who once lived there, walk along hidden streets until the Newfoundland bridge, from where we will see the leaning bell tower of the church of San Martino and pass through the only square on the island where lace-makers renew the ancient lace-making tradition.
Before boarding the steamboat to return, we will enjoy a breathtaking view of Venice and the lagoon.
